2nd Annual Stationery Store Day: August 5, 2023

Paper People Unite For Stationery Store Day!

After a hugely successful first year, Stationery Store Day returns for its second year.

Elizabeth Maute, the owner of Graphic-Poetry, a stationery shop in the Village of Hamburg, says her store will take part in the second annual Stationery Store Day. The event will take place across the world on August 5th, 2023 from 10am to 5pm.

  • The event is a day that celebrates independent brick and mortar stationery shops, first organized by Kristina Burkey from Calliope stationery shop in Natick, MA.

  • The Stationery Store Day Instagram account @stationerystoreday has over 3,570 followers.

  • The first Stationery Store day took place on August 6th, 2022.

Maute has prepared a curated collection of exclusive merchandise in preparation for the event, a coloring contest for kids of all ages, gifts with purchase for the first few customers, as well as recruited some fellow local woman-owned businesses to take part as pop-ups at her shop.

“We have received so much positive feedback here at our new location on Main Street. People are always very excited when they come in to find that there is now a stationery store in the area, so I think this year’s Stationery Store Day will be a hit,” says Maute, “Shops from all over the US as well as shops in Europe and all over the world will be participating and customers tagging the Stationery Store Day Instagram with their celebrations. I can’t wait to make it even bigger this year!”

Stationery Store Day brings together people from all over the world who know the value of sending a card, love the allure of a new pen, and muse the possibilities a new notebook can hold. It also encourages people to get out and support local small businesses and visit their nearby shops in person.
